Expanding Our Outreach Through Community Health Worker Training

Starlilly Community Outreach Corp is pleased to announce that members of our organization will soon begin an eight-week Community Health Worker training program in partnership with Pear Suite.

This important professional-development opportunity represents the next step in strengthening the support and assistance we provide to individuals and families throughout our community. Upon successful completion, our trained Community Health Workers will be better equipped to conduct screenings and needs assessments, provide care navigation and health education, coordinate referrals, advocate for participants, and connect community members with appropriate resources.

Our expanded services will help address social and health-related needs involving food insecurity, transportation, housing instability, behavioral health, healthcare access, and other essential needs. SCOC will also be better positioned to professionally document community needs, track participant outcomes, and work within eligible Medicaid- and health-plan-supported community service pathways.

We are proud to be moving in this direction with Pear Suite. This training will help us build upon our lived experience and established community outreach by adding professional tools, education, and coordinated support. Our goal is not only to meet immediate needs, but also to help the people we serve access continued resources that promote improved health, stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.
