Our first event on 12/21/2024 off Owens Avenue on Davis Street in Las Vegas was soooooo positive! We fed at least 60+ individuals whom which were all grateful. We were grateful and thankful to be able to do this! A huge thanks to my big Sister and Mentor, Cheree Clark-Guichard for donating chicken and many friends and spirit family too for your donations and support! Some people said they smelled the fried chicken from a round the corner! We had food clothes, hot cocoa, tangerines, apples, trail mix nuts, cereal bars and Christmas candies. A special shout out to Lisa who is homeless, she stuck by us helping us by bringing Josh who helped light the burner to boil the water for the cocoa. She helped keep the area up with us and expressed that she could feel we are what she needs to lift herself from depression and drugs. It takes a village and we are a world family with issues due to the evils of this system but we will prevail! Special thanks to my little Sister Brandi and niece Brea, my daughter Mera, for serving folks and my grandchildren. *Special photo credit to my granddaughter Lari as she was on site capturing some moments of the event.
We were in front of an apartment building and two people came out of their apartments to get at us about not being in front of their gate and one man came out of his apartment and straight up said, "we don't want 'them' here, can you guys move?" I told him that we'll leave the front of their apartments better than we found it and we did.
People felt the love because we posted up for some hours and served and discussed their goals, their circumstances and how we are coming, in Spring 2025 to open our first transitional home. I prepared potential resident data sheets so we could get their contact info and for them to tell us about themselves and in addition to that, we handed out our business cards to everyone who visited us. One man spoke earnestly saying, "we don't ever see this anymore...people coming out here posting up serving, I thank ya'll, cause this here just doesn't happen!" Well Brotha, we'll be back 2/22/2025 with more clothes for the men folk cause that's what's really needed, plus more hot food, hot beverages, and more!
Thanks to our donator's of food items: Trader Joe's and Albertson's. Thanks to Fette Brown, Vashti Dedmon, Ebany Jackson and Shar Starks for their contributions towards food, fuel, and event needs. Thanks to our donator's of clothes and personal items from our San Bernardino Coalition Family, Ms. Janice and Family.

My daugther Mera serving folks.
